New Requirements for Export License

On 2nd July 2022 and 14th July 2022, the Ministry of Commerce (“MOC”) released the Letter No. Ka Ba Ya (Ma Sha) Pa Ka 2022-2023 (0199) and the Letter No. Ka Tha Ra (Mar Ta) Management/2022-2023 (0515) to prescribe the requirements for issuance of export license for export of rice, pulses, corn, various types of sesame seeds, and peanuts (“Goods”) as the border trade from the Muse 105 Mile Trade Zone and the Myawaddy Trade Zone.

To obtain the export license for export of the Goods via the border trade, the exporters are subject to the followings:

•   The USD currency can be used for the border trade.

•   The payments for the Goods must be made by an advanced telegraphic transfer (TT) and the exporter must receive the payment within 45 days.

•   The export license is valid for one month.

•   A bank credit certificate is required for issuance of the export license and the export declaration form (ED) can be submitted with the Customs Department for export of the Goods upon receipt of the bank credit certificate.
